Letters of Encouragement

Hi Nic! Great to see you articulate beautifully your artistic ministry of spirituality.

------

I once went to an interdenominational ministry ideas conference and the most profound was one on craft and prayer. It seemed unusual by the title, but the interactive/kinaesthetic approach to prayer made it far more meaningful than anything I had experienced before. I've experienced several of Nic's prayer rooms and they are beautiful on every level of art, interactivity and creative connection with God. They are like stepping into other dimensions of sacred time and sacred space.

It's interesting that the a big fight in the church has been over "creation". Creation is an amazing expression of the creative nature of God. We are made in God's image, which includes creativity, yet often our worship and sanctuaries and ways of doing private and corporate prayer have not manifested this creativity. Perhaps less fighting over the past and embracing the creativity of God in the present could be much more productive and meaningful!

--------

Nic lives on little more than fresh air and sunshine, yet she keeps on going because she is so fuelled by her experience of God and the profoundness of the gifts that God manifests through her and the people she ministers with. If you can get a chance to experience the way God works through her, and support her ministry, I highly encourage it.

-----

Bless you Nicki!

I'm very intrigued by the intersections between instillation artist and minister of the Gospel. That is a very apt description, and something that I feel merits more exploration!

I am very grateful for the creation of worshipful and restful space, particularly in stressful environments. I also agree that denominational or religious neutrality (i.e. appeal to people of many faiths) is very worthwhile.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful ministry!

My children enjoyed a prayer room during their experience at boarding academy. I am thankful that this useful tool has been developed and implemented.

Thanks, Nicki, for this article. One of the most beautiful aspects of these prayer rooms is how they creatively prompt us to do spiritual work with God and through the Scriptures that we might have otherwise left by the wayside. I have seen them engage the young and old alike. Your deep and thoughtful approach to creating these opportunities for prayer has been a blessing to many!

Nicki,

It is also inspiring to hear from you. Thank you so much for what you are doing for the Kingdom and the King. You are a special gift to all of us. Also I wanted to commend you on your passion for discernment. I totally agree with you on this. As we continue the spiritual journey God gives us more and more freedom, entering acting with us in adult like ways (although we are childlike but NOT childish) rather than like little children. As this happens discernment becomes all the more important. Keep on the good work. I hope you have a Christ filled Christmas and a God honoring, transformational 2011.

together on the journey,

Larry :)

Comments from a Birthing Prayer Room

Thank you nicki... Thank you for your prayers and your help. I'm very pleased with how the prayer room turned out. I think it was needed in order for me to birth naturally. I found that it was while I was in the prayer room that I would progress in labor. Leaving the prayer room generally stalled labor. April

I am a theology student and I had the most spiritual experience I have ever had in my entire life in the prayer room.

Very different, but such a neat way to connect with God. Wish we could have one all the time.

Thank You.  This room is just what I needed.  Bless you all.

You guys did an amazing Job.  God bless you and keep using your talents.

Thank you for setting up such a spirutal blessing.  I went through with a friend and not only did we grow closer to each other, but closer to God.  It truly was a blessing!  I wish Southern had a prayer room set up all the time!  God bless!

Thank You! It was awesome.  May God bless you all!

Thank you for your passion - thank you God spoke to me tonight.

The room was amazing.  I just needed a place to stop and be with God.  I really needed this.

What a blessing this prayer room is to me and the rest of southern.  Thanks!

Stories from Hawaiian Mission Academy

Julia shared that she had a close friend she was very concerned about, who had not contacted her in over six months.  She prayed and released her concerns over to God at a prayer station. Three hours later the friend had called her and Julia was very excited at how fast God had answered her prayer.

One girl had a car accident on the way to school and used the prayer room to praise God she was not physically hurt.  But it was also a safe place to debrief and let out her tears as she was very shaken up emotionally.

Colleen wanted God to speak to her and show her a sign in answer to her prayer. She asked that God would make her teacher say a specific phrase when she walked into her next class.  The teacher said the exact words and she was so excited when she realised that God really wanted to talk to her and answer her prayers.

Nic: Thanks for much for putting this together. It was truly a blessing for me to be there as well to serve people. I only wish I could have devoted more time to it. Your creative ideas were fantastic. I love the marriage supper table. Did you do the calligraphy on the plates yourself? I wish we could have something permanent like this somewhere manned by all the local churches. When I was there on a Thursday morning for my block it was a steady stream of people.
God Bless, Lyris

The evening I was there alot of people visited. Three ladies came in together and sat writing prayer requests for about 30 minutes. Four ladies came in and got on their knees and prayed together. A woman and her teenage daughter waited until I was done talking to other people. They wanted to talk about the Lord. I walked them over to Psalm 139 and read it out loud. The woman cried and said she didn't deserve Jesus' love. That she hadn't done very much for the Lord. We talked alot after that. How we are all sinners and except for the shed blood of Jesus we could never be reconciled to God. It was very moving. Towards the end a young man(whose outward appearance would be a shock to our parents generation) came in. He looked at the floor as I talked to him. I was telling him about the different areas of the chapel and I found myself also talking about the love of the Lord. It wasn't planned or panned. It was like the Lord had loaded me up with love to pass on to this young man. He continued to look down and then said he was going to come back later. As I turned away from him he grabbed my shoulder and looked me square in the eye. " Thank you," he whispered. Most everyone that came in asked if we planned to keep the chapel that way. They really hoped so. There was a real presence of the Holy Spirit there and I felt people were being drawn in by this presence.
God Bless you.

I was bless myself. It's just good to prayer with and for one another.
Thanks. Ida

It was a joy to be with you, Nicki, and to envision what God is doing and where He is moving the ministry of prayer at Florida Hospital. Again, thank you for your many efforts...God will yet do much through your caring heart.
Marti

Hi Nic , I want to thank you for making this a great event. I surely hope this will happen in the future. I think it needs to be more promoted just like they did with the buckets and the other campaigns of the hospital just as the heart walk. I think more advertizing and marketing would be great to make people more aware in the different campuses....maybe even do something like a contest of house of prayer..for each of the campuses. They do displays contest for the food drive...I don't see why we can't do something for the house of prayer....this is just a suggestion. Overall..I thought the experience was great..and I see god moving in many ways. Diana

I have heard so many positive remarks about the Prayer Chapel experience since it began here at Florida Hospital. I have had the opportunity to take several folk in and show them around and invite them to come back for a closer personal experience. Thanks for all you do to bring us closer to HIM. Thanks so much!

As most of you have probably heard, the Prayer Chapel is being Continued through next week.  I was there Sabbath afternoon.  There was a steady flow of pray-ers.  When I told two regulars that it was continuing they were just thrilled.  It said a lot to me.
Also there was a son and his children.  They stayed for quite a while interacting with the stations.  The loved mother and grandmother was dying. It was a special retreat and time. There was a young woman.  Her dad was dying.  She stayed a long time. She spent a lot of time with God.  We talked and prayed.
The Prayer Chapel is an experience.  I could never tell you how thrilled and proud I was of the Prayer Power of the Hospital Church.  It very much spoke to Jodie and me.  Take a look at the slots for this week.  If you can, come again.
And thanks for your prayers for the HOUSE OF PRAYER.  Pray for Nicki as She uses her awesome talent.  Pray for the hospital ministerial and outreach staff as they plan the direction of the chapel.  Pray that God will give them much wisdom.
Thanks again,
Mary Alice

Hi,

Nicki- You have done a great job- what a response! blessing to you and all who experience the prayer house.  Richard Guerrero 407-529-7379 www.vineyardym.com

Please pass this along to Nicki if you communicate regularly. I enjoyed my hour at the House of Prayer. The stations were very meaningful and creative--really made me think about new ways to think of my time with God. I kept thinking of new pins to place on the map of the world as I prayed for my children's in-law families. I prayed with one patient and about three other family members of patients. A few curious employees wandered through and some said they would be back later. One employee prayer guardian for tomorrow p.m. stopped and looked around and kept repeating that he would be there tomorrow...
Overall, it was a good experience and I want to thank everyone who helped set up the chapel for all the creative ideas.
Love, Karen

I spent an early morning hour at the HOUSE OF PRAYER at the Florida Hospital
main chapel this morning. It is deeply spiritual and exceedingly lovely.  There were many praying.  It was a very good thing. We are thrilled with your part in the venture.  The FHCPM focused on Tuesday of this six day program.  All those slots are full and there are overflow
slots filled on other days.  Now we want to challenge you again. Pray about this challenge.  It is an outreach that is very much working. Thanks so much.  God bless,
Mary Alice

Hi Nic I so wish I could be there to support your house of prayer. so creative, deeply spirit filled and inspiring. can you imagine the transformation if every SDA school in Australia combined with local churches had a week of prayer based around this? wow!! with a dedicated prayer centre in the school. miracles would certainly happen. you inspire me and I am so proud of you for what you are doing. my hugs and prayer's are with you, beautiful angel; graeme

Thank you for all the support and encouragement through words and prayers - my heart is blessed and overwhelmed and refreshed.
